Happy Birthday Hedy Lamarr!

indexYou might know this woman for her beauty or for her acting in such films as Cecil B. Demille’s Samson and Delilah (1949). But did you know, this Austrian born American pin-up invented spread spectrum technology? Lamarr’s invention manipulated radio frequencies was used to create uncrackable codes to help defeat the Nazis in WWII.

This week, we celebrate Hedy Lamarr’s birthday (November 1914-January 2000). It’s time we celebrated her enduring brilliance and scientific contribution, along with her screen accomplishments. Happy birthday, from all of us at LSQ.
