Kris Faatz (rhymes with “skates”) is a Baltimore-area pianist and writer. Her short fiction has appeared or is forthcoming in The Potomac Review, The Kenyon Review’s KROnline, Glassworks, Reed, Bluestem, and Helen, among others. She studied engineering and music at Swarthmore College and piano performance at the Peabody Conservatory, and has been a contributor at the Kenyon Review Writers and Novel Workshops and the Sewanee Writers’ Conference. Her first novel-in-progress, To Love a Stranger, was a finalist for the 2015 Schaffner Press Music in Literature Award. She is also an assistant editor with Bartleby Snopes literary journal.
