People of Colo(u)r Destroy Science Fiction

by Cheryl Wollner

Lightspeed Magazine has put out a call for submissions for an upcoming special issue: People of Colo(u)r Destroy Science Fiction! After the success of previous special issues, Women Destroy Fantasy!, Women Destroy Science Fiction!, Women Destroy Horror!, Queers Destroy Fantasy!, Queers Destroy Science Fiction!, and Queers Destroy Horror, Lightspeed has taken its kickstarter campaign to people of color.

Guest edited by Kristine Ong Muslim and Nalo Hopkinson , this issue looks for fiction, flash fiction, personal essays, reprints, and art by people of color. Please note, this is a call for science fiction only. However, if the kickstarter goes well, Lightspeed has promised to open up People of Colo(u)r Destroy Fantasy! and People of Colo(u)r Destroy Horror!

Submissions are open until February 19. Click here for more information on how to submit. And please, share this information widely. Whether you identify as a person of color or not, one writer’s success is a writer’s success for us all.
