Keeping Calm and Carrying On

Hello, dear readers! It’s me, JP, your friendly neighborhood editor-in-chief.

I wanted to use my column this month to reach out and say hello. There are a lot of these virtual check-ins going on right now. We’re all like a bunch of conures, sounding off to make sure we’re heard, that we’re still here, still around.

LSQ, as always, is here to stay. We’re going to keep going and hopefully provide a bit of a reprieve for your minds and hearts. This has always been part of our mission statement, to be the uplift we want to see in the world.

While I know it’s hard to stay off the news right now, I encourage you to take a break now and then. To put the phone down and pick up a book. To read or watch something that lets you rest for a little while. There are plenty of suggestions in our blog archives!

We here at LSQ can’t fix everything, but as a community we can work to deepen our connections and check in with those near and far. In our Slack group, I’m seeing folks check in more, sharing bits of news, and just engaging with each other in such kind ways. It’s heartening to see.

We’re also here to provide a guidepost to navigate by in the form of stories. The tales in our issues are ready to enchant you, make you think, laugh, and enjoy a moment or two of respite in the midst of this new normal.

I hope that when I see you again next month we’ll have happier things to talk about. Until then, I hope you all stay safe and healthy. I hope you all keep writing and reading and sharing great stories. Be well, and remember to be kind to one another.
