Isabel Cañas a Mexican-American fantasy writer and graduate of the Clarion West Writers Workshop. A PhD candidate of late medieval Islamicate literature, she can often be found in the Persian poetry section of the university library, notebook in hand, daydreaming about Mongol queens and long-dead warlords. Isabel knows nine languages and has lived in Mexico, Scotland, Egypt, Turkey, and Jordan. She currently divides her time between Chicago and New York.
